Our Team

Metlakatla CEM is rooted in Metlakatla’s values and Metlakatla members are the foundation of our program. Community members, staff, and leadership are involved every step of the way.

Metlakatla CEM Advisory Committee

An advisory committee will be formed to support the CEM Program team to address strategic issues and challenges and to elevate recommendations to Metlakatla leadership. The committee also stewards the Metlakatla-SFU partnership and provides expert advice on cumulative effects, management, and research.

CEM Value Teams

Value Teams will work on priority values that are identified by the Metlakatla community. The makeup of each team will depend on the value and whether existing teams or structures are already in place.

Metlakatla is such a welcoming community that cares deeply about protecting their beautiful territory. I learned this work has many spin-off benefits, including social connection, celebration of culture, bringing youth and Elders together in hands-on learning experiences, and building social and ecological resilience.
